Cricket Prodigy Diniru Drives Straight into Colombo North Team

Diniru is the skipper of the Vidura College Under 13 cricket team and has made his school proud with his achievements.

He is an excellent cricketer equally capable in all three departments of the game.This youngster started his cricket career in 2011 with a lot of eagerness. He was brought up in cricket under the watchful eyes of Rumesh Perera, Milan Hettiarachchi and Romesh Jayasinghe. He had more dedication for a youngster and did a lot of training to perfect his trade. I am sure he will have a bright future cricket, noted Upali De Silva, the Sports Manager of Vidura College, who is also a former stalwart in cricket.

As a right-handed batsman, Diniru has scored over 1000 runs in the concluded season while capturing over 50 wickets as a right-arm fast bowler. At a tournament played in Galle, Diniru impressed against experienced sides such as Richmond College, Mahinda College and the Galle Cricket Academy, which indicated his capabilities as a versatile cricketer. Diniru is now fully focused on the upcoming tournament and wishes to make great strides, aiming for a better future in cricket.
